Reflection 15 - Last entry for STC.

Reflections

Week 15 (7th April 2008 – 13th April 2008)

Wow wow wow… Time does fly fast isn’t it? In less than 1.5 weeks time, we will be officially graduated from STC. It is somehow ironic that I am feeling both happy and worried. I am happy to be able to graduate from STC without missing any major events. In addition, I am worried with the built up responsibilities that I would received from my postings. But anyway, I still hoped for the better.

Probably, this may be my last time writing this reflection and I shall make it a long entries. Entered STC in late December 2007, the eagle company trainees make their first appearance a step earlier than the rest. The impression of STC wasn’t a big wow; or rather it seems pretty much humble. First few days we were assigned with rather more admin work than teaching. Then one week later, when all the trainees got together and the commencement of supplier supervisor course went ahead went.

I am lucky to have many wonderful instructors with me, from my course commander 2WO Agnes to course 2 i.c SSG Cheong to course admin 1SG Fazli and Douglas to many others instructors. Although first few impressions weren’t made right by some instructors but eventually, it’s the happy endings that count most.

Apart from the experienced instructors, we were also involved in many major events from army funeral, total defense day, navigation, under slung, ex sacred odyssey, component trainings to ex operation playtime. These 4 months in STC have really been more than a fruitful and smooth journey.

In addition, credits must also be given to the 39 trainees that have made my life a sun shine in STC. Remember the first few nights we spent in the BLK 9, where the dogs bark and the misery girl scream? Remember the very first scolding we received from 2WO Agnes for not greeting her in class? Remember the many times whereby SSG Cheong will sing an out of tune song? Remember the loud Madonna MTV that was showed to us on the very first day? Remember the first movie we watched at BLK 13? Remember the first night out in STC where every trainees treat it as a treasure? Remember the first complaint we received for watching movie with slippers and potatoes chip? Remember the first test which gives us a hard time, navigation paper? Remember the many times we rush to the toilet and pull the toilet paper for shitting in the morning? Remember the many complaints given the cookhouse for lousy foods? Remember the many kilometers run we did in STC? Remember the many moments we gathered and run passed the navy muscular trainees? Remember the many shagged moments we shared in the outfield? Remember the loud music always flowing from the instructor’s bunk? Remember the many debate between the supply and transport trainees?
Most importantly, remember the many happy moments we shared from eating the KFC and McDonalds?

It is this 4 moments that make me realized that the bonding between trainees and instructors can be make a step closer. It is this 4 months that make me realize how much we can learn from the experience instructors. And it is this 4 months that makes me realized that I am FATTER!!!!

Now, there is probably a week more for us to be together. I would probably me missing this course and always remember the one phrase: SERVE WITH PASSION!!!
